Snapper, Emperor Red – Seychelles 
Emperor Red Snapper are found on coral reefs throughout the Indo-west Pacific region, with an important artisanal fishery in the Seychelles. They can live for 40 years, and grow at moderate rates reaching 116 cm in length and 33 kg in weight.
In the Seychelles, they are over-exploited and there is no management plan in place.
Emperor Red Snapper are mostly caught using hook and line gear, which has a low impact on bottom habitat and a low incidence of bycatch.
