Sushi Partners

Blue Ocean Institute collaborated with Environmental Defense Fund and the Monterey Bay Aquarium on its Guide to Ocean Friendly Sushi.  Fisheries researchers from Blue Ocean Institute and Monterey Bay Aquarium evaluated the seafood species included on the guides released by all three organizations on October 22.  The guides incorporate human health recommendations from Environmental Defense Fund; fish that contain levels of mercury or PCBs that may pose a health risk to adults or children are flagged.
